Inside the Kennels

Individually heated, dual-run kennels — a private retreat for every guest.

Each of our 40 kennels is individually heated and thermostat-controlled, so your dog stays warm in January and comfortable in July.

Every kennel uses a dual-run design: a snug indoor sleeping area, connected to a private covered outdoor run. Your dog can stretch their legs and take the air whenever they like, sheltered from the weather and completely secure — without waiting for a human to open a door.

Kennels are cleaned daily and maintained to the standards of our Newark & Sherwood District Council licence, which is inspected regularly.

A typical day for your dog

Dogs settle fastest with routine — so every day at Platinum follows a familiar rhythm, adapted to your dog's own feeding times, medication and energy levels.
Morning -

Wake-up, health check and first run

The team opens up, checks every guest over, and gets the first exercise session of the day underway in the secure paddocks — followed by breakfast, served exactly as you've told us your dog likes it.
Midday -

Kennel care, rest and medication

A rest back in a warm kennel while the block is cleaned and water is refreshed. Any medication is given on schedule.
Afternoon -

Second run of the day and one-to-one attention

The second exercise session of the day, with time for fuss, games and individual attention from a team that handles dogs professionally every day. Evening meals are served for dogs fed twice daily.
Evening -

Settled for the night — never unattended

Every guest is checked and settled before lights out. With staff living on site and CCTV covering every kennel and outdoor area, someone is always close by, all night, every night.

The Grounds

Two acres of secure Nottinghamshire countryside.

Secure exercise paddocks

Our fully fenced exercise fields give every dog two sessions a day of off-lead freedom — space for a flat-out sprint or a gentle mooch, depending on what your dog prefers. Dogs from the same household can play together; others exercise individually with our team.

Health and wellbeing

All guests must be fully vaccinated, including against kennel cough, before their stay — it's how we keep every dog in our care safe. The team carries out daily wellbeing checks, and we follow your instructions to the letter for feeding, medication and any special care needs.

Security throughout

The whole site — every kennel, corridor and outdoor area — is covered by 24/7 CCTV, with secure fencing around the full two acres and staff living on the premises. Your dog is never left unattended overnight.

Licensed and inspected

Platinum Boarding Kennels is fully licensed by Newark & Sherwood District Council (licence 22/00051/COMM). Licensing means independent inspection of our kennels, records, staffing and welfare standards — not just our word for it.
